Let’s learn how to draw Anju Maaka from Chibi Vampire today!
Anju Maaka (真紅 杏樹) is one of the supporting characters of manga and anime Chibi Vampire (Karin). Anju Maaka is the youngest child of the Maaka (Marker) vampire family. She is Karin’s younger sister and she absolutely loves her, close to the point of obsession. Anju is too young and has yet to fully awaken as a vampire. But she also developed her skills at a very young age. However, she cannot go outside in the sunlight without the aid of a parasol and she can only attend school on overcast days. Her sister Karin is clumsy and never seems to be able to do anything right, so Anju uses her bat familiar spirits to watch over Karin during the day.
Anju prefers to wear Gothic Lolita clothing and a black bow to tie her hair with. She is a gloomy, very reserved, speaking in a quiet manner, grim, glacial and pensive girl, who for the most part, displays very little expression and has an acerbic, biting wit. She is shown to deeply care about her family, more specifically Karin. She will do anything for Karin and would be willing to sacrifice her own happiness in exchange for her sister’s. She is quiet, very mature, and not afraid to stand up to anyone, including her older brother.
Anju has a hobby of collecting dolls, but her favorite doll is Boogie (called “Boogie-kun”), which contains the soul of a serial killer known as the “Striped Shirt Slasher”. Her Affinity is Loneliness (Manga) and Jealousy (Anime).

As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.
Step 10
Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.
Step 11
To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Anju Maaka from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^_-.
