Arthur Boyle (アーサー・ボイル, Āsā Boiru) is the main hero of Enen no Shouboutai.
Arthur is confident in himself as a Third Generation Fire Soldier of Tokyo’s Special Fire Force Company 8. He appears arrogant and cocky all the time. Due to his attitude and casual demeanor, Arthur tends to make bad impressions on people. He has a medieval-like complex, causes him to do things like referring to the girls he meets as princesses and the Special Fire Cathedral 8 as his castle, he believes the pigeons to be griffons and that he was successful in slaying dragons. He is inexplicably popular with the girls and seems to always have a silent and mysterious façade, but maybe he’s just too stupid to articulate anything. Arthur is also known for his lack of intelligence, repeatedly been referred to as foolish and lacking in common sense. He prefers to go his own way, rather than do things the way other people think he should. Arthur takes great pride in Excalibur, a bladeless sword and his personal weapon. He relies almost entirely on natural combat instincts to fight, as he is unable to generate nor comprehend complex strategies. Arthur has a high sense of justice, which he correlates to his persona of being a knight.
Arthur is a young man of average height. He has shaggy blonde hair and blue eyes with white pupils. He tends to style his hair upwards into a ponytail when in a fight, so that his field of vision would be clearer. When Arthur was first introduced, he wore a dark pants, shoes and jacket with a button on his collar, shaped like a cross-like insignia and light shirt. Later he wears a bunker gear, a protective outer jacket and trousers, a neck protector and protective gloves. Arthur carries a scabbard alongside him, in which he keeps his blade-less sword. Parts of his outfit, are coated with blue lines. Arthur wears a dark green jumper with a hoodie instead of a helmet, as it doesn’t fit his image of a knight. The buttons of his protective jacket are in the shape of cross-like symbols. Arthur’s outfits contain patches with number “8” on them. It signifies his affiliation to the 8th Special Fire Brigade.

As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.

Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.

To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Arthur Boyle from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^-^.
