Let’s learn how to draw Tohru from Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon today!
Tohru (トール, Tōru) is one of the main characters in the series Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. She is a Chaos Dragon, raised to hate humans, who are evil, inferior and foolish beings. However, this all changes after her life is saved by Kobayashi – she falls in love with her and starts living in her apartment as a maid.
Tohru has the ability to transform into a human girl. In her human form, she has a buxom figure with large thighs and plump, bouncy breasts. Her scales are transformed into a maid uniform. Her long hair is blonde with flaming orange tips. While in the private comfort of Kobayashi’s apartment, Tohru lets her tail and occasionally her wings out. Outside, she hides both except for her horns. She is commonly mistaken for a cosplayer. Tohru’s dragon form appears as a big green European dragon with black wings and a light green underbelly.
She was supposed to be a fierce and dangerous force of evil with nothing other than destruction in mind, which explains her initial distaste towards the human race. Having been accepted by Kobayashi even in her dragon form, this all changed, although she retains much of her dragon-like powers and strength. She is now cheerful and kind to every human she meets. As a maid, Tohru is a hard worker and cares deeply for the household, tending to all aspects of daily life, although this will often lead to trouble. Overall, Tohru is warm, loving and responsible. She is also quickly influenced by what she sees on the television or the Internet.
Thanks a lot to Hamano 1412 for request. ^_^
Step 1
As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Step 8
Step 9
Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.
Step 10
Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.
Step 11
To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Tohru from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^_-.
Draw with passion! ^_^
