Let’s learn how to draw Michiru Kagemori from BNA today!
Michiru Kagemori (影森みちる Kagemori Michiru) is the main protagonist of the BNA: Brand New Animal series. Her story starts as a 17 years old normal human attendant at Reiwa High School in a rural town. Living with her parents, supportive and caring mother, she is enjoying a normal life with her best friend Nazuna Hiwatashi. Around a year before the events of the series, Michiru and Nazuna were injured in a car accident. They were operated in the same hospital. However, one day at school Nazuna transformed into a beastman. She was taken into a black van by men in suits and never seen again. Soon after, Michiru turned into a tanuki (japanese racoon dog) beast woman during basketball practice. She was unable to transform back into a human. She resorted to hiding at home. Eventually, she found out the Anima City website and she planned to live in there, so she left her home. Anima City is the place where the other beast man live, both to hide from hatred normal people and also to find a way to become human again.
In her human form, she has a pale complexion, black hair and eyebrows, and brown eyes. She has an asymmetric bob haircut with a tuft of hair sticking out on her left side. Michiru wears a standard high school uniform. In her tanaki beast mutation she has a blue hair in the style of a bob-cut with black tips, and pointy ears sticking through her hair. Blue tail has also a black tip and sticks out from her shorts. Eyes are in a dark teal color. Her hands, feet, and a patch on her face are dark brown. The rest of her body is light brown much like that of a real tanuki. She wears a loose, gray tank-top, a black compression tank top underneath, navy dolphin shorts with light green trim, a red sports jacket with white trim and the collar up, and white sneakers with red soles.
Michiru is compassionate, brave and energetic. She cares for both beastmen and humans. She doesn’t tolerate violence against anyone. She goes to great lengths to protect her peers. Michiru’s strong will also carries through her actions. She is stubborn and not easily swayed by peer pressure. Once she has a set goal in mind, she is determined to achieve it. But sometimes her strong will can be a flaw which is recklessness, ignoring her own safety as a result.

As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.

Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.

To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Michiru Kagemori from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^-^.
