Let’s learn how to draw Koichi Hirose from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure today!
Koichi “Kou” Hirose (広瀬 康一 Hirose Kōichi) is the deuteragonist of the Diamond is Unbreakable, which is the fourth part of JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken series. Koichi is a meek first-year highschooler who befriends Josuke Higashikata and then finds himself embroiled in the world of Stand users (a visual manifestation of life energy, an entity psychically generated by its owner). Koichi eventually becomes a Stand User and wields the sound manipulating stand Echoes.
Koichi is a teenage boy of average build. He wears a notably unmodified student uniform, otherwise preferring leisure wear. Koichi first keeps his light hair neatly combed back, but he suddenly cuts his hair, producing a flat-top, which spontaneously grows out again into spikes during one of his battle. The color of his hair varies. The most common schemes being blond, blue, or silver.
Koichi is an amiable, but meek youth who undergoes an exceptional degree of character development. Koichi has grown into a confident youth who, while still prone to bouts of panic, could enter a Stand fight without qualms. His greatest leaps are illustrated by the metamorphosis of his Stand, Echoes. He becomes more assertive throughout many confrontations with evil Stand users.
Koichi is friendly and polite towards any stranger and acquaintance. Having a gentle heart, Koichi usually doesn’t seek to harm his opponents. Another one of Koichi’s primary characteristics is his courage and associated virtuousness. The mix of his gentleness and courage make Koichi an extremely likeable individual. However, Koichi’s friendliness disappears on the rare occasions he is angered, and he becomes more abrasive, violent and vulgar. Koichi also possesses a rather cheerful personality. He finds wonder in most (even common) things and has little trouble befriending people. Because of this, he is usually easily pressured into an interlocutor’s demands. He is a great fan of Rohan Kishibe’s manga Pink Dark Boy and plans to visit Disneyland Paris.

Step 1
As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

Step 8

Step 9
Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.

Step 10
Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.

Step 11
To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Koichi Hirose from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^-^.
Draw with passion! ^_^
