Let’s learn how to draw Himi Yasaka from Mikagura School Suite today!
Himi Yasaka (八坂 ひみ) is one of the main protagonists of manga and anime series Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku.
She is the representative and the honored student of the Mikagura Calligraphy Club. Himi takes her role seriously and has a great sense of responsibility.
Himi is a petite girl, albeit developing quite a nice figure. While she looks at best like a kid due to her small stature, she really dislikes being told so. She has short, straight bobbed hime-cut black hair with a thin yellow ribbon on the right side of her hair. She also wears the calligraphy club uniform which consists of white robes, black hakama, yellow obi, zori and a big necklace with two blue (orange in manga) pendants. The flower accessories on her hip (in manga) were replaced by three pom-poms in the anime series.
Himi is childish and naturally curious about things, very energetic, cheerful and isn’t very good at lying or deceiving. She doesn’t like being treated as a kid or called short though and tries to act maturely in a childish way as best as she can. In battle her aura changes to something more serious. Despite this, Himi is a nice girl to get along with and she can make friends easily. She sometimes shows a wise and mature side and has a slightly motherly aura due to her nature as a representative. She is also fond of sweets, particularly biscuits and candies, she hates capsicum, and can’t drink soda, since she gets drunk from it easily. When Himi’s power (Lovely Ink) is activated, she can bring characters that she writes with her brush to life and make them attack her opponent.
Thanks a lot to Cupquakers for request. ^_^
Step 1
As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

Step 8

Step 9
Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.

Step 10
Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.

Step 11
To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Himi Yasaka from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^_-.
Draw with passion! ^_^
