Let’s learn how to draw Nakiri Ayame from hololive 2nd Generation today!
Nakiri Ayame (百鬼あやめ) is a Japanese Virtual YouTuber associated with hololive, as part of the Hololive 2nd Generation. She is a kimono-clad Oni girl, kind of demon in Japanese folklore, from the Demonic-Realm Academy.
Despite being an Oni, known for being evil and brutal, she is one of the kindest and caring members in Hololive. She is calm, easy-going, very friendly, playful, even clumsy at times and treats her audience equally to herself. Despite having an introverted personality, Ayame gets along well with her peers and seniors. However, when it comes to interactions with juniors, she often gets shy. As she loves to prank people, she always uses will-o’-the-wisp on them just to have fun. She’s known for her soothing voice and infectious giggles and laughs during her stream.
During streams, she prefers to just talk about different topics and often gets sidetracked from one topic to another. She is quite knowledgeable about various anime, manga, J-dramas, and seiyūs. She’s a fan of FPS games and also sings a lot on her streams. Her fanbase is officially called “Nakiri-gumi” (百鬼組). Her representative emote is a smiling “oni” face. Her mascot, Poyoyo is a white, ball-like creature that possesses the same horns that Ayame has and she always carries twin katanas on her back. The red-handled dachi is called “Ashura”, while the black-handled oodachi sword is called “Rasetsu”. Viewers call her “Ojou” (お嬢,Young Lady). She calls her fans “人間様” (Humans).
Step 1
As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Step 8
Step 9
Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.
Step 10
Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.
Step 11
To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Nakiri Ayame from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^-^.
Draw with passion! ^_^
