Let’s learn how to draw Nanashi Mumei from hololive EN 2nd Generation today!
Nanashi Mumei (七詩ムメイ) is an English Virtual YouTuber associated with hololive -Council-, as part of the Hololive English 2nd Generation. She is the Guardian of “Civilization”, a concept crafted by mankind. Mumei is the only member of the five of her generation who was not created by the gods. She is the living embodiment of mankind’s efforts on the world.
She decided to make her appearance owl-like, after the bird that symbolizes wisdom. She has the ability to take the form of an owl. Nanashi is gentle, shy, wise, cheerful girl who is soft-spoken and somewhat innocent. She is an unbelievably hard worker and as a well-traveled vagabond, she is blessed with a wealth of knowledge of the world. However, she’s somewhat scatterbrained, and has a tendency to forget things easily. She can be nervous during streams, rather emotive and is known for her hearty laugh. She has also demonstrated a rather unexpectedly wide vocal range.
Her fanbase is officially named “Hoomans” (“hoo” + “humans”). She made her own friend out of a material that was indispensable to the development of human civilization: paper. It is her mascot from paper bag. It has no name, because she is afraid she might forget his name. She simply refers to it as “my friend”, because she will never forget that he is her friend. Her channel’s members are named “Owl Pals”. She likes simulators, world building games, rhythm games, obtaining knowledge, vegetable broth, drawing stuff, and singing.
Step 1
As always all the blue and green lines are just construction lines and will be erased later so do not push on your pencil too much ^_^ I will try to be super efficient with the text so will only describe steps that require some explanation.
Make sure to leave enough free space on paper for next steps. You can see how much space you will need from the size of the paper on this picture.

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

Step 8

Step 9
Lighten all the construction lines by “stamping” the kneaded eraser on the paper. Make sure to refer to the picture bellow as you need to ink only some parts of the construction lines.

Step 10
Wait till the ink is nice and dry and erase all the construction lines.

Step 11
To add colors, make sure to sketch the color outlines with the right color or pencil first.
If your goal is to become a real Mangaka and design your own manga characters make sure to try to draw Nanashi Mumei from memory several times. Always compare the drawing to the original and correct any mistakes you see. Do this till you are happy with the result. It doesn’t have to look exactly the same, don’t sweat the details. The point is that you get the main shapes right and that it looks good. This is the best way to build a huge library of manga shapes in your memory that you can use to draw and design your own manga characters ^-^.
Draw with passion! ^_^
